WHITESIDEWALLS ROCK 'N' ROLL REVUE

The Whitesidewalls Rock 'n' Roll Revue will be returning to the Aitkin Moose Lodge on Saturday Sept. 11, 2010. They will perform from 7:00pm till 11:00pm outside. Last year they came later (first weekend of Oct) and we had miserable weather. It was cold and raining but everyone had a GREAT TIME dancing and dodging the rain drops. We hope for better weather this year having it 4 weeks earlier. We will have Large tents up in case mother nature plays a trick on us again. Tickets will go on sale at the Moose sometime in July for around $13 pre sale and $15 at the door. Join us for a great evening of fun and dancing. Our Lodge is planning a Member Appreciation Dinner/Picnic for Sunday Afternoon on August 22nd. Initial plans are for Smoked Turkey, Brats, Potato Salad, Beans, etc. This is FREE to members and their immediate Families. Join us for Horseshoes, Bean Bag Toss, Other Games, and Special Beverage Pricing with Drink PullTabs. Your DUES must be up to date to qualify.

The Annual Spring Golf Tournament was held on Sat. June 5th. It was a great time with near perfect weather. Mike and Kelly Stone once again hosted the tournament at their 18 hole golf course (Crosswoods) in Cross Lake. We had only 43 golfers this Spring and would like to see a few more at our next Tournament. No decision has been made as to IF we will have a fall tournament. If you would like to see a fall tournament please let us know.

As you all know, our Lodge has been exploring having a WOTM Chapter in Aitkin. We have placed a Sign UP Interest Sheet in the Lodge. Membership elgibility requirement: You have never been a WOTM member OR you have not been a WOTM Member in the Past two years. Currently we have 21 women who have signed the Interest sheet. We need at least 4 more before we can pursue having a Chapter here in Aitkin. Please signup if you are interested. We need at least 25 committed women to have a Chapter. We have tried to have a Chapter in Aitkin in the past and never had enough interest. We are VERY CLOSE. Know someone who might be interested. Talk to them.

Current WOTM members are not elgible by to be considered to start a Chaper. We need NEW members or expired memberships greater than 2 years ago to sign up. Presently we have a number of WOTM members from other Lodges who live in the Aitkin area and have expressed an interest in transferring to Aitkin if and when a Chapter is started. All current Moose rules and timeframes involving transfers into a Chapter will be in effect. At present time we don't know what this involves but will pursue when a Chapter is started here in Aitkin.

As of June 3rd, 2010 we have 23 women who have signed the interest sheet. If all are serious we are 2 away from contacting Moose International to proceed.

In August, your Moose Lodge will be starting a Fantasy Football league. Any member interested in taking part in this league should contact Rich Ritchie before August. We are looking at using an ON-LINE program for weekly lineups and scoring. COST? That will be decided with your input. If we have enough interest we can run more than one league but we need to know who is interested before August 2010. This promises to be a fun event for the whole family. Hi Everyone,

Well, the Summer is flying by so fast and things have been really busy at the Lodge. We have had Weddings, a Golf Tournament, a Funeral dinner, Steak Frys, Taco Wednesdays, Mens Golf on Tuesdays, and out of towners dropping in to say hi.

The Lodge has had a few pulltab boxes where the winner would win a Color TV. There have been 2 winners so far and as of now there are plenty of chances remaining on the current RCA 42" Flatscreen 1080P HDTV. The proceeds go directly into the Gambling account which is where most of the monetary donations to all the charities come from. Come on in and see if you can win a new TV.

NEW for all Moose members. Sponsor 2 members and your DUES are free for the next year. This is going to be a permanent PERK from Moose International.

We have a Member Appreciation Family Dinner/Picnic planned for Sunday Aug 22. There will be games and food. Plan on attending.

Our Last Friday of the Month Steak Fry has been going good. Thanks for the Support. Our next Dinner is Friday July 30th. Price is still $12.

A Fall Golf tournament is being planned by the Activities Committee for Sat. Sept 25. Same Format as before and once again at Crosslake.

We WILL BE OPEN for most of the VIKINGS FOOTBALL games on SUNDAYS again this year. Special Beverage prices will be in effect during the game and POTLUCK type food, and Pizza is available.

We are trying to get an ANSUL Unit installed in our Kitchen. A Broaster and a Deep Fryer have been donated as well as the ANSUL unit.We look forward to being able to serve Broasted Chicken, Drummies, Fries, etc. to our members before too long.
